Solar Electric/PV
The house has 5.4 kW of solar electric (photovoltaic/PV).
The panels are mounted on twin dual-tracking pedestals, which gives the
system a 25-30% boost in total power output compared to a fixed-array
system with the same panels. The system is grid-tied with an instantaneous
UPS/battery backup that can be charged from either the grid or the panels—which
is not true of many systems. This is a top-of-the-line home solar electric
system in terms of power generation and resilience during an extended
outage.
