2012, fully operational

This photo is from 2012, with the cistern complex fully operational in its current state. Rock was added on top of the cisterns to keep the summer sun off the cistern lids, which can impart unwanted heat into the cistern chambers. The cedar boxes shown below serve two purposes: (a) to house the inter-cistern connections, and (b) to house the dip tubes and valves for each cistern. All PVC used in high-pressure sections of the system dip-tube and remote bibb systems have thus been buried or shielded from UV damage. This ensures the longevity of the system.
