Album Review: Superhero references are a passing part of "Blood on the Rooftops," a brooding progressive dirge that works on your senses until you are finally forced to admit to its musical genius. Most of Wind & Wuthering is like that: seemingly "pretty good" at first, but better and better as you listen again and again, as the haunting melodies and rich lyrics work themselves into your brain, until finally your soul fully accepts that it's an amazing album. Other standout tracks on this masterpiece include "Your Own Special Way," "Eleventh Earl Of Mar," and "One For The Vine," which is one of the most astonishing musical stories ever told. Steve Hackett's brilliance is also unleashed in the instrumental piece "Unquiet Slumbers For The Sleepers... In That Quiet Earth." This is one of the many excellent pre-pop Genesis albums.
