Most of the material on this site (http://www.grinningplanet.com) is original and is protected by United States copyright law. It may not be reproduced, distributed, transmitted, displayed, published, or broadcast without the prior written permission of the Grinning Planet founder, Mark Jeantheau. The service mark "GRINNING PLANET" is also owned by Mark Jeantheau.

Here are the answers to a few frequently asked questions.

Is all the material original?

The writing for the joke/humor pages and the environmental pieces is all original, except as noted on the pages themselves. Reviews for albums, movies, and books are also original and are copyright protected.

Can I use the material in my web site or in a project?

I do allow reprinting of some Grinning Planet articles on topics ranging from environment and energy to plutocracy and pest control. These articles are listed on the page of free environmental articles. If you see an article you'd like to reprint, please review the reprint guidelines.

I typically do NOT allow reuse of Grinning Planet cartoons. If you think you've got a case that merits an exception, contact me at contact@grinningplanet.com.

Do you purchase or accept humor material or environmental articles written by others?

I occasionally accept environmentally themed cartoons for reprint on Grinning Planet. You can see an example on this environment cartoons page. For more information, please contact me.

I also occasionally adapt or reprint others' articles. "Evergreen" articles work best—that is, ones that will still be relevant and accurate a few years from now. The best topics for article reprints are "green consumer" type articles, though I am open to other themes as well. Contact me with your idea.
