Album Review: Well, Kate sounds a little bit paranoid with these lyrics, but she still manages to pull off a good song in "Coffee Homeground" by wrapping her suspicions in a bouncy tune. So, let's skip past any clouds in the coffee and go straight to the rest of Lionheart. It's Kate Bush's second album, and it finds her gaining more mastery over her voice and continuing with her intriguing, melodic songwriting. The album opens with "Symphony in Blue," a luscious tune about the color of moods and
perceiving one's place in the scheme of things. Next up is the delicate "In Search of Peter Pan," which weaves melodically through tangled relationships. Other songs benefiting from Kate's strong songwriting and lyrical skills are "Fullhouse," "Kashka From Baghdad," and the phenomenal title track, "Oh England My Lionheart." Also included on the album is the song "Wow," which was a hit for Kate in the UK. Second albums are often disappointing, showing an artist's inability to crank out another album's worth of material quickly after a successful first album. But Kate Bush has no such problem here—true to its name, Lionheart is strong throughout.
