Album Review: At 22 songs on a single disc, you'd think Donovan must have just randomly cranked out a couple dozen flower-power tunes back in 1967 and slapped them onto a disc to capitalize on his increasing popularity. But no, he actually came up with a slew of well-crafted folk-rock songs that stand up against his best work. The lush "Wear Your Love Like Heaven" opens the album and was a hit single for him. If you know Donovan's music mostly from what you've heard on the radio, that's probably the only song you'll be familiar with from this album. But fear not, the rest are plenty fine, with standouts including the dreamy "Sun" and "Someone Singing"; the trippy "There Was a Time" and "Under the Greenwood Tree"; the lovely "Oh Gosh"; and the inspiring "Land of Doesn't Have to Be." The list goes on. You won't be sorry if you take a tour of this Donovan garden.
