“Swimming Song” – New Riders of the Purple Sage, from the album New Riders |

This summer I swam in a public place
And a reservoir to boot.
At the latter I was informal,
At the former I wore my suit,
I wore my swimming suit.

Album Review: Anyone who missed out on this New Riders' summertime gem from the 1970s is a belly flop of a music fan! "Swimming Song" is a bouncy riot, and it appears on an album packed with good-time NRPS tunes, including "Fifteen Days Under the Hood," "Hard to Handle," "Don't Put Her Down (You Helped Put Her There)," and "She's Looking Better Every Beer." The New Riders of the Purple Sage may be better known for earlier albums, but this one remains a favorite from the Grinning Planet music library
